Know who your customers are!

Never send new customer offers to existing customers. It's bad enough that you don't recognize who your customers are and treat them as such, but it really stings when the rate you are offering is lower than what I have been paying as a long-term customer.

And on that note... spend time and effort on retaining customers, not just acquiring new ones.
